15th Feb 26.
Beginners and improvers trip.
Sennybridge to Aberbran. The Usk, South Wales.
Another good turnout of 10 paddlers. Some experienced old hands willing to teach and encourage new and enthusiastic adherents to the sport whilst also maintaining their own skill level.
It's really good to see some new faces and to welcome some "new blood" into the club.
This section of the Usk is one of the more popular sections of the river, and for good reason. It's a charming run with some good play waves and has three drops that require inspection prior to paddling over, just to make sure they are clear of obstructions and safe to run.
Those in the group who are new to paddling are clearly picking up skills and improving week by week.
I'm pretty sure a good time was had by all despite the hailstone showers and occasional heavy rain..... and a short lunch break, well....... it is February after all!
No-one complained!
